Big CDC and GST Vouchers are Announced for Singapore
The government of Singapore has announced Community Development Council (CDC) Vouchers and Goods and Services Tax (GST) Vouchers to help households cope. The CDC program is a part of the Assurance Package that was announced by the Deputy Minister and Finance Minister, Mr. Lawrence Wong, during Budget 2024. The GST Voucher Scheme 2024-2025 gives Singaporean households crucial economic assistance, enabling lower- and middle-income residents to more effectively handle living expenditures and GST charges.
In 2025, the GST in Singapore remains at 8%, making it one of the most significant sources of government revenue. But this tax is quite a bit heavier for lower- and middle-income groups. The government launched this program to help individuals by reducing the tax burden. Under CDC, the individuals or families will be provided $300 worth of vouchers in 2025, split across two redemption periods.
